Recruiting has not really improved from the Mac years. We do better based on improved plays and schemes, particularly on defense. But aside from a spike during Chizik's 2 years -- yes, I really am saying that Chizik was a better recruiter than Paul Rhoads -- recruiting has not improved. The result is a big talent gap between ISU and just about any team in the old Big 12 South.

Our talent is a problem. It always has been. The coaches are working on it, but part of what gets players is winning games. Have to have one before you have the other.

I disagree. The talent is much better now that it has been in recent years. There is a lot more depth now than ever. We still need a couple play makers and improved line play but things really are better now. I think everyone is forgetting how bad things were.

Disagree. I think the talent has improved. Baylor isn't the Baylor of old. This ain't the b10. This conference is filled with talented athletic teams.

There will ALWAYS be a talent gap with Texas schools. But this team is much faster and deeper than the past few years.
