Many of us that somehow thought that it would be fun to pull for both teams.
Just enjoy it when things do go well and realize that that it doesn't happen all the time.
Plus drink heavy during all other times..... it helps numb reality.
I guess I'm just happy I really don't like baseball at least.
being a lakers fan for basketball and a packers fan for football helps...
Cubs suck
I feel like I am some kind of self abusive mental deviate for loving the Cubs and the Cyclones. But you cant help who you grew up loving.
I blame my Grandpa, he had season tickets for ISU ever since I could remember, he would take me and my brother to every game (Walden Era). It was like he was thinking ahead about building character for us. (This is the same Grandpa who took us to see our first MLB came in Chicago at Wrigley.) AHHHHHHHHHHH
I feel your pain, as I am also a fan of both. Being a Cyclone fan we kind of did have a magical year in 2000. The football team went 9-3, and both basketball teams had good years. Back then, I thought to myself we may never have a year like that.Quote:

I dealt with it this year by focusing on the Bulls season till June, mostly skipping the Cubs because I was 100% sure they'd suck, getting to Cyclone football a couple months later, which gets me to the new loaded Cyclone basketball team.Quote:

It does seem like a curse. Growin up in Atlanta as an Iowa State fan was not easy as everyone was a UGA/Florida/UNC/Duke fan.... I suppose its my father's fault for playing there! To boot, his best friend was a guy named Jim Doran who entertained my Mom and Dad at Detroit Lion football games ... so therefore I have to be a Detroit Lions fan. Its in my DNA, I can't change it. But when something special happens it really means something...
