Jake Knott Shoulder Injury
If this subject is already posted somewhere I apologize. I did a search before posting but found nothing. I have been told that Jake's shoulder was dislocated in the game on Saturday and he kep playing. Then I read that he actually dislocated it twice in the game. How serious is this for the kid?
My nephew dislocated a shoulder in highschool the first time and now faces this on a recurring basis. Knott is tough, but have we lost him for a period of time now?

Re: Jake Knott Shoulder Injury
I guessed, based on the way he landed, that he probably dislocated his shoulder. I hope he has no long term damage from it, as he has a very bright future.

Re: Jake Knott Shoulder Injury
I dislocated my shoulder playing ultimate frisbee in intramurals and over the next 3 years did it another 7 times, each time with a smaller and smaller impact causing it to come out.
I ended up having to have surgery to get it to stay in there.
That said I didn't have the resources of a D1 medical staff.
Either way, dude is a beast for continuing to play, I wanted to freaking die each time.

Either way, dude is a beast for continuing to play, I wanted to freaking die each time. After Rhoads' presser today, Knott was made available to the media. He told them that it did indeed go out twice, and one time was on the Mizzou sideline. Said he popped it back in himself before getting up to go back to his own side of the field.
Tough, tough dude!

What a trooper! Hopefully it doesn't affect his play in the long run.

Re: Jake Knott Shoulder Injury
I remember watching a Michigan -Ohio State game 6-8 years ago (back when they were both good) Michigan limeman dislocated his shoulder and his teamate popped it back in on the field between plays.
My understanding is the more it hapens the easier it is to get back in place.

Re: Jake Knott Shoulder Injury
Its true, it goes back in easier but on the flip side it comes out alot easier too and doesn't hurt any less

Tough, tough dude! He is good enough to make tackles in two games at once but I think the distance may hinder that somewhat...

My understanding is the more it hapens the easier it is to get back in place. I don't know about shoulders, but this is true with fingers. My little finger dislocates every so often with very little impact, and turns it straight sideways. I just grab it and pop it back into place (after freaking out my wife and kid with it).

Merely a flesh wound. -
Re: Jake Knott Shoulder Injury
Ever wonder if Jake needs one of those tests where they put your hand in ice to see if you can feel pain? That kid seems abnormally tough.

Re: Jake Knott Shoulder Injury
They will get him a good shoulder brace that wraps the shoulder up tight and helps prevent any other damage. I predict he will be good to go on Saturday.

Re: Jake Knott Shoulder Injury
Iirc, we have one of the best training staffs in the country. That makes me confident we will see JK when he is at his best.
