a crap load of students are selling tickets already...no chance of 50k...even students who don't care about football know how crappy we've played the past 3 games...Texas game ****** alot of people off.

I honestly think we can keep this game close in the first half, if we do, then we have a chance at winning the game. The crowd will not be a factor however. Much like the Kansas game last year.

I bet the student section is full prior to half time. No bets on after, and I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to sit through an ***-kicking.

It really puts a damper on trying to have your beers when the student section starts emptying out...

I don't get all this announced attendance and actual attendance BS that being posted in this thread? There's ticket sales, and then there's actual game attendance. WTH?

As for the athletic department just being happy with tickets sold by September not caring about subsequent lagging attendance late in the year....filling up the parking lots at 20 bucks a pop to park, game programs, and concessions mean a whole helluva lot to the athletic department as well.

I've been laughing at all these posters thinking we only get 40+ at the game. We'll have well over 50K in the stands. Should have great weather for mid-October (which means good walk up crowd) and we've already got 50K sold = another very good sized crowd.

Kind of impressive how much college football demand there is in this small state. Between both schools, when we have both games on a weekend that is a large % of iowans watching college football live.

Why wouldn't there be? Homecoming, a predicted beautiful day, 2:45 pm start, and the last time we play aTm. All those factors combine to make it a very big crowd IMO.
