49ers GM in ISU Film Room?
Friend of mine is a big 49ers fan. (and Hawk fan. :confused:) But he stumbled across this article about the 49ers GM. They asked the 49ers GM, Trent Baalke, if he watched the other games in the NFC West division while the 49ers were on bye. Baalke responded "No, I was at Iowa State in the film room." WTF? Does this make sense at all? Anybody got more info about this, as this seems extremely random.
Edit: I mean, I guess he was scouting some of our players, but why was he "in our film room?" Is that standard for scouts to come in our film room to scout our players? Wonder who he was looking at?

Doubt it was KO. They have Joe Staley on the left side and just drafted Anthony Davis two seasons ago in the 1st round. I guess they could be thinking about moving him to Guard opposite Mike Iupati...

Meh, I don't know. They have drafted a ton of lineman recently. My guess is LJ.

Could be looking at A&M players too. Either that or he has a rather dry sense of humor and was cracking on our program because somebody still holds a grudge getting passed over when we hired Chizik.

I'm a big 9er fan. If they are scouting KO it's for Guard. They drafted Iupati (G), and Davis (T) in 2010. Staley (T) in 2007, I think. The right guard position is terrible. Rachal and Synder go back and forth. KO would be the only offensive player getting scouted.
On D they need help at corner. Maybe LJ?

KO rated as top guard prospect in the nation according to this. Also the 5th overall prospect in terms of being able to contribute at his position.

It seems to be pretty inevitable that he makes the switch.
Notable that Leonard Johnson is rated the #10 CB as well.

Ya it should be mentioned that underclassmen aren't included. I wasn't aware that Reiff was a guard prospect at the next level I thought he was a tackle.
