I can easily look past somebody wearing those colors for a little while, especially if they turn out to be an all time great for us like she did. What I can't look past is somebody being a complete train wreck like Wegher is. I hate to hear about him wearing an ISU sweatshirt, let alone think about him putting on a uniform. NO thanks.
I agree, he is a trainwreck and damaged goods because of it. However, if someone else comes to their senses and wants to leave Iowa ****** for the promised land, I will welcome them with open arms if they don't have a bunch of baggage.
"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr
It says he runs a 4.7!! Why don't we only recruit guys that run 4.3's!
Over pursuit becomes a problem. I consider it my role to spin every recruit. That said, here's my initial opinion of Hayes:
He's a great athlete. You can see that on the video. He moves very well and can do some things. I think Wally, if he wants can do some things with him in terms of dropping him or setting him up as a rush linebacker. I don't know if he will do that, but I think it's there. Do I think he will completely change the defense? No. I have more confidence in David Irving becoming a game changer, myself. I do however think, he is a fantastic addition to the guys we have. You look at next year and we will lose Lattimer and Neal, but gain a lot of development from Scott and Irving along with a healthy Maggitt who was probably our best DE. Add that in with Simon, Pompey, McDonough and Laing and our DLine is certainly improving. That group is on its way.
