And as for Gimbel he's a very good quarterback, it helps though that he's got the Stephenson brothers and a pretty good running back. Unfortuantely if he is going to go anywhere it will be Iowa. I know the family and they are all huge hawk fans.

Marshalltown was up big -- even had continuous clock. Coach took him out after that touchdown to put in a sophomore.
Edit: I guess I should say they pull him out the next time the Bobcats were on offense.
Very glad he was able to get the record at home. Even better, it was on a touchdown pass.

I've heard Northwestern has been looking into him.

Re: Gimbel breaks state record
His parents run the Taco Johns in Marshalltown. Make sure to wear Cyclone gear to the Mtown TJ's and remind them there's a good fit for him down the road...

Re: Gimbel breaks state record
Gimbel has put up incredible numbers but I wonder if our staff rates him higher than Lanning from Ankeny, who is also a junior. Lanning isn't as tall as Gimbel but is bigger physically. Lanning does a great job passing, but hasn't had to pass much in Ankeny's offense, and in many of their games Ankeny spends the last quarter or more running out the clock, so his passing stats aren't big.

I'll take Rohach, but thanks for the tidbit.
Cheers

Re: Gimbel breaks state record
He must be a heck of a player. Congrats to him.
Not sure what that has to do with the town of marshalltown though.

Re: Gimbel breaks state record
Congrats to him for breaking the record. Most college football fans in the state of Iowa, watch and/or keep up on high school football. Have a little pride in the community and state you live in and when kids accomplish things.

Re: Gimbel breaks state record
U of I is where QBs go to die. Why would a good QB go there? To play in a weak conference, on an average team, and run a boring offense centered around power running?

-Big 10 is clearly behind b12, sec, pac10. Convince me it's not weak, even though every college football analyst says it is.
-you honestly don't think the Iowa football team is average this year??
-Iowa asks the QB to manage the offense, not turn the ball over, occasionally throw the ball down field off play action, run the ball effectively, while playing good D. You disagree?
Dumbest thing you've ever heard, huh? Where am I going wrong? This is going to be good...
