I don't want to turn this into a wine festival if ISU's win isn't the biggest headline in the sports pages around the state.
Just wondering how it will be presented, what with ISU handily beating a ranked team on the road and the other teams (UNI and whatzit) both falling.

Hats off to the Cedar Rapids KCRG TV sports department - Sunday nights sports led off with a lengthy and enthusiastic report on the Cyclones victory over TTU. This was ahead of the hawkeyes, UNI and any NFL reports.

Honestly, we're lucky the OWH mentions Iowa State at all. Other than TX or OU, or maybe laughing at realignment, they're all B1G now. The stories for ISU they print are all AP stories. They're too busy sending 6-8 reporters to wherever the Huskers or Hawks are playing.
Quad-City Times, Davenport posted this headline on their Sports page Sunday: "PULLED PORK" Surprised they printed a large pic of 2 Minnesota players carrying off the Floyd of Rosedale trophy.
The article about the Cyclones made the front page this week, an unusual event!
Headline: Freshman leads ISU past No. 19 Texas Tech. It was an AP article. Can't imagine any eastern Iowa news staff writer ever attending a Big12 game and bring a photographer along.
"This is who I am . . . this is what you're gonna get!"
