Knott Who?
This is not a dig or slam on Knott, but I didn't hear his name called a lot last night. I haven't watched it, but did the TT Oline key on number 20... or just that they didn't run at him?

Re: Knott Who?
4 tackles, I believe. Still not sure if his arm/shoulder is preventing him from really sticking people. With the scheme, though, I think they were looking to stop the pass first, and relying on the defensive line for all of the pressure and most of the run stopping.

Re: Knott Who?
Yes, they were talking about his shoulder last night. The only way his shoulder will heal is with time off. Until then, he can play, just not at the level of play we are used to seeing him play at.

Total team effort on the D side of the ball? Probably.

Re: Knott Who?
Remember also that the defense was on the field for only 20 minutes against a pass-happy team. All-in-all I think our defense was suited perfectly for stopping Texas Tech. I'll predict the rest of the season our competition will load-up to run. I'm sure Wally is preparing for it.

A big part of Knott's numbers being low was our offense keeping the defense off the field. We had one possession of 9 minutes! What a great team effort across the board!

Re: Knott Who?
I know in the pregame show Wally said that they were going go have a 3 man rotation with Knott,Klein and Tau'fo'ou. That probably had something to do with it

Re: Knott Who?
good for the overall defense that he wasn't in there getting every tackle. More of a compliment on the rest of the guys than a problem with Knott.

Re: Knott Who?
One arm currently broke and the other shoulder is out of its socket. With that said he makes so many plays still.

Re: Knott Who?
The problem was that Tech stopped running the ball. They were down so much that their unbalanced attack was even more so. Also, they were playing in coverage most of the night. We didn't send that much pressure all night...

Re: Knott Who?
Yeah, the whole defense deserves a huge pat on the back, but how about Ter'ran Benton? Made the tackle on the 4th and 1 red zone stop and that interception that he was pretty close to taking to the house were huge plays that took the Raiders out of the game early. I don't know if he's ever made big plays in a game like that before, but it was good to see.

Re: Knott Who?
I think it's a combination of the other players stepping up and TTU not getting many chances on offense.

Re: Knott Who?
I think this thread has been mostly talked about, but I was wondering if any of the young D-lineman got in the game last night? Did they have any good plays? Were they part of the overwhelming defensive TEAM play?
