ISU opening at -13.5 vs. Kansas

For the first time since UConn, I think I'd put money on the Cyclones with this line.

I think I would take the clones to cover. CPR is great for realizing potential trap games and I know he will have the team ready for this game. Last year KU put a few points up early but I don't see that happening. The D will continue to play great and Barnett once again plays a stellar game. I think we win 34-10

Okay. This is going to make me sound like an idiot, but what the heck. What does the -13.5 mean? Is that the point spread? Does it basically mean you'll have to subtract 13.5 from ISU's score to even the score with Kansas?

Yes, that is the spread.

It means that Vegas thinks that 13.5 points will even out the bets on each side. So if we win by 13 or less (or lose), KU wins the spread. If we win by 14 or more, we won the spread.

With Kansas giving up 52.8 points a game in conference play, I'm going to have a real problem if we only put up 34 on the Jayhawks.

Considering we've scored more than 34 in regulation about 1 time per year in the CPR era... Ill be jacked with 34. I dont think they can score more than 24 on us if we control the clock running again.

If we play like we did last night we'll cover that easily. If we play like we played in the previous 4 games we could lose. Kansas knows that next week is their only shot at a win for the rest of the season.

This. Ubben said it on ESPN today, beware of the desperate teams.
Whatever Kansas has left in the tank, I expect them to lay it all out there next Saturday. The last vicious gasp of a dying animal.
That said, it wont be enough unless we hand them the game with turnovers and such.
