How awesome would it be if we go bowling and the hawks don't!!!!!!
Could easily happen with a more challenging schedule ahead..

6 AQ champs
Boise St (or Houston if Boise loses)
SEC team
That leaves 2 spots to divide up between...
1. A 2+ loss team who is the loser of the ACC championship
2. A 2+ loss team from the Big 10
3. A one loss Stanford team if they lose to Oregon or a two loss Oregon team if they lose to Stanford (both are in the same division, so they won't play Ariz St for the PAC championship
4. A 2 loss OU team or 1 loss OSU team
Here's what I think the order of selection will be for those 2 spots
1. 1 loss OSU team
2. 1 loss Stanford team
3. 2+ loss Big 10 team
4. 2 loss OU team
5. 2 loss Oregon team
6. 2+ loss ACC team

I wouldn't take that bet, especially if it's another low level bowl in Texas. The league royally screwed NU last year, and they'll do it again this year.
ISU is Mizzou's only hope to avoid the Pinstripe Bowl. (well, that and losing.) PLEASE beat KSU for that 6th win and spare us the trip to NYC. Let us have a different location with somebody other than a 4th-6th place Big East team.

P.S. Muck Fizzou.
P.P.S You shouldn't be hoping for us to be eligible or we may jump you again. Then you'd have to ***** about it and leave the conference...oh...wait.

Re: F it, lets talk about bowls
the loser of the missouri vs baylor game this saturday, may likely not go to a bowl game. they both sit at 4-4 and will each beat kansas yet. but they are not guaranteed to win another... each team has a decently tough road the rest of the way.

Originally Posted by awd4cy But wern't we a 6 win team then that jumped an 8 win Missouri team? This is correct. The 7 win > 6 win bowl deal used to only apply to non-conference affiliated bowls. A 6-6 team could not be taken ahead of any eligible 7 win team.
But in the conference affiliated bowls, the bowls were free to pick any conference team they wanted, as long as there were slots for all eligible conference teams. So, Insight decided to select us ahead of MU. Their call and was acceptable since MU still had a conference bowl game open to them.
Not sure if MU's whining led to the Big 12 changing the rule or not and would now force a 6-6 team to always take the lowest conference bowl slot.

Re: F it, lets talk about bowls
If ISU can play like they did last weekend, pour me some of that cool-aide baby! Otherwise, I think that it will be yet another close-call season... maybe not as close as overthrowing a wide open guy in the endzone...

Re: F it, lets talk about bowls
I don't know why, but for some reason I am rooting for the New Mexico bowl

Re: F it, lets talk about bowls
For Big XII affiliated bowls, there is one rule:
The conference champion gets the automatic BCS bid.
After that, the bowls select teams in order. No selection criteria other than the team selected must be bowl eligible
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -
