OSU overlooking ISU
I know it is a ways away but what are the odds OSU is looking at their last game vs. Oklahoma one week too early and we pull an outrageous upset? It would be incredible/awesome/lucky but could it happen? OSU has the 84th worst rus defense currently, could we come out and Tech'em.

Re: OSU overlooking ISU
Not a good chance, but you just never know. I think we'll know a lot more about this team after Saturday. If they come out and destroy KU like they should, then ISU is the team we all thought they were/can be. If not, I don't like our chances going into the Okie St. game.

shhhhhhhh
don't let them know were here -
Re: OSU overlooking ISU
I think OSU's defensive stats are a little skewed, they have had so many blowouts that a lot of the yards and points are scored against their second team. I think their run defense is going to be miles ahead of TT's. My heart says we can beat them but my brain says no way. Go back and look their past games in the last few year, they are a very consistent team.

Re: OSU overlooking ISU
The Odds of a few members of the team, the media, and some fans looking past this game? Pretty good.
The Odds of it not mattering in the least when it comes to the outcome? Also very good.
OSU is in a similar situation as ISU. They are the sister school that was not relevant in football outside of an odd year most of the time. They have now built themselves into a power, but I am married to an OSU graduate, and the fans don't take any win for granted. They don't have the same entitlement issues that some of the powerhouse programs have, because they have just recently climbed out of obscurity.

That's probably a key — performance vs. KU. Can't be a loss, or any OSU upset would go almost out the window (barring a fluke) ...
A too-close W might mean flatness or indicate ISU may not be close enough to perfect in any other games this season (and near-perfection would almost be required vs. Okla St).
If the win is too easy, too lopsided (although I wouldn't complain) there's a chance of overconfidence. Then again, maybe it means the team is starting to click and confidence has built to a positive level.
In the short-term, though, I'll save most speculation until after KU game.

Re: OSU overlooking ISU
OKSt is the most complete team in the conference and IMO is at least as complete as LSU and Alabama. Their defense is for real. That said, I am calling it now. We scare them. I don't think we will beat them. It actually probably won't be close but I think we will scare them for a half.

Re: OSU overlooking ISU
I'd say the odds of them looking past us are fairly good. However, even with that said, I'd say the odds of us getting the upset win are pretty small.

Re: OSU overlooking ISU
OSU game against OU is 15 days after our game. They will have plenty of time to think about OSU. The team more likely to overlook ISU is OU since we play them the next week and they only have a week to prepare for OSU.

Kind of an oxymoron....if the yards and points are scored against their second team its because their ahead by a wide margin, do you really think the other team is trying ball control down by 35?
In going through their games...its plain and simple, its a bad rushing defensive team....
see for yourself
La lafayetter 208 yards rushing
Arizona 197 yards
Tulsa 174 yards
A&M 46 yards rushing
Kansas 106 yards rushing
Texas 202 yards rushing
Missouri 195 yards rushing
Baylor 327 yards rushing
not to mention only two of these opponents were held under 300 yards passing....
I said it before the Tech game and i will say it again....Their defense will afford us an opportunity to be in this game if we play like we did against Tech - all three phases and keep their offense on the bench which only tightens them up!!!

Re: OSU overlooking ISU
I think the biggest key to this game is our D-line again. They got some good pressure on TTech and didn't give Doege a ton of time. If we don't get pressure on Weeden, he's going to pick us apart.

OU had their bad game for the year (until the bowls) = no chance
OSU = juggernaut = no chance

Re: OSU overlooking ISU
Kansas has to feel left out. I'm almost positive they're the only Big 12 team that hasn't had a thread created about the potential for them overlooking us. So....is there any chance that Kansas overlooks u this weekend since they play somebody else next week? -

Is there any chance that ISU overlooks Kansas?
