    Darius Darks

Ishe healthy, I mean I looked at his stats and he has 12 catches. This coming from a guy who I thought would have a decent senior year. Its not often that a player who starts for 4 years, has his best year as a true frosh. Not trying to bag on the guy but seriously.

He seems to enjoy Twitter more than playing football

I'm surprised people haven't said more about this. I don't really watch the wide recievers blocking, but it seems like he is unbelievable unproductive. One or two 4 yd catches a game and thats it. The only time I can think of even seeing him is the TD catch in the Iowa game...

Reynolds is a better blocker AND a better receiver.

Darks had a huge 3rd down conversion in OT against Iowa, and a TD last week, but seems pretty damn quiet since then.

You almost get the impression he just isn't into it as much as he was a freshman or sophomore.

    Re: Darius Darks

I think Darks was just better in Macfarland's system than this one. We haven't used him in the same ways since his freshman year.

Yeah, I was just trying to be nice. I think Darks' main problem is he is a WR that isn't very big, isn't very fast, and doesn't have very good hands.

    Re: Darius Darks

Macfarland's system was not as dependent on WR running after the catch as Herman's. Darks' strength is finding holes in the zone, not running after the catch. He is the classic 'possession' receiver. In the spread, there simply isn't as much need for that, as the ball usually gets out quicker, and there are never usually more than 3 step drops.

    Re: Darius Darks

Coaches clearly see how ineffective Darks has been-
    See-
West getting a lot of props from the coaches
    Young playing more
    Horne
    Gary getting a few catches..

We also know how Chizik liked to favor his guys so Darks' freshman year could have been a product of that as well.

No hands, no speed and no size, WR is a tough position if you have none of these.

McFarland system consisted of Im not sure what play we should run, getting a lot of delay of games and wasting a lot of timeouts

Yet somehow he managed to get ISU into the top half of the FBS in scoring and yardage...

    Re: Darius Darks

I would agree that he has not been as productive as he could be, but in Pre-season AA ranted about how he thought he would be the leader of the WR group, He has not really shown much, other than some keep plays, but he has definitely not had the big games that I would have expected. I truly believe that the coaches still see him as a team leader though.....
