You can watch several FB games and not see one of these dead ball mouthing off unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, yet ISU seems to get one or two a game.

All around nice game by the special teams unit capped off with Guyer going 2-2 on the day. Also, can we give some props to Kirby and his fake punt? Nice run for 17 yards to extend the drive.

While I am happy with Barnett's performance the last two weeks, he just has no arm strength. IMO, our future qb situation is still very much up in the air.

The Clones just ran over the KU defense. I know it was at the end of the game, but KU knew exactly what ISU was going to do and they still didn't come close to stopping the offense. I disargree. KU was gaping with the Dline and knifing the stand up d-end with was disrupting our running game. At the same time they were man to man with the corners playing 2 deep with the safties for help and relying on the linebackers (who were surprisingly fast) to cover the run and slot receivers.
We needed to get the running game going and then use playaction to take the LB's out of coverage, but we couldn't get the running game going.

Yeah, his arm strength is lacking. I do think it was a little over exaggerated today considering how windy it was. At least arm strength is something that can be developed in the weight room (assuming a better QB doesn't find his way onto campus).
At least so far in the three games he has played his tendency is to make good football decisions under pressure. That alone makes up for the physical negatives.

It was among a few things that happened in this game that reminded me, of all things, the Nebraska '09 game. Completely different circumstances, of course, but were some parallels -- offense fairly proficient but can't finish drives; defense gets the team off the hook multiple times it looked like we'd lose the lead for sure. Fake punt just sort of added to the comparison.

Did J. Washington get hurt? I noticed he didn't play on KU's last possesion.

"Arm strength" in terms of throwing is not something that can be developed much in a weight room. Its one of those things you either have, or you don't have. See baseball pitchers. -

As for the rest of this thread, would you feel better if we played lights out and lost? We played like crap and won. I'll take it. Last week didn't carry over to this week and this won't carry over to any of the last 3 games. We are capable of good things. We just need to strap it on and put the best effort out there we can. The pressure was on us this week. We won't have that for the next 3. We're better when we can play with nothing to lose. I wasn't talking about LJ but thanks. How about some credit for how the LB'ers played today?
Difference in the game,IMO.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers. -
