So who doesn't get logic and facts again?????? Your forgetting this was against Kansas.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell us what he doing to score touchdowns needed in our conference to win......
Did you watch the game?
Herman's "caution to the wind" play calling when we are at our won 5 yard line going into the half could have easily BLOWN UP on us and Kansas scoring a touchdown right before the half!!!!!!!!!! When did he call a "caution to the wind play?" Maybe I'm not remembering right, I thought he called a run play on 1st down, and then the broken play was on 2nd down. Is Herman responsible for broken plays? You remember we have a RSFreshman playing quarterback right? That kind of thing will happen the rest of the year.
I don't think we've lacked offensive production due to playcalling and scheming as much as lack of execution and having inferior athletes (turnovers and penalties counted as lack of execution). Our athleticism has improved significantly since the end of the Mac and beginning of the Chizik eras, but they still don't execute well on a consistent basis.

My only comment on play calling is that I hope we line up in the pistol at least 90% of the time from now on. I love that look with Barnett in there.

Re: Can someone list the great play calling Herman had yesterday....
We finally figured out how to block them up front in the 4th quarter and could have run the ball to Story City had we wanted to. I was really proud of PR for taking the knee a couple times and keeping the 7 points off the board on the last drive.

Second, I realize Herman's offense hasn't produced, but do we honestly need a new thread on it every week? It gets old quickly. I'm not sticking up for him, bit perhaps people should stick to one of the many threads already on the topic.
Third, not everything is doom and gloom as you and SCarolinaCy make it out to be. We just won a football game that our opponent had circled since the beginning of the season. We've won 5 games (and we're not done yet) when many had predicted to win no more than 3. Things are looking up for our program but there are many people complaining that its not good enough when it takes a lot of time to build a program out of the 5-19 **** hole we were put in
You are right on most of this.
The "5-19 **** hole" was dug for us long before those two years. The fact that mac the mediocre basically stopped recruiting his last three years, after his mentor laughed at him for asking for the wisconsin job, here left this program in as big of a talent deficit as he supposedly inherited.
I know that everyone is mad at ol' gene (never mind how his CHILDREN were treated) and I am sorry that he did not have the five years, MINIMUM, that it was going to take to dig us out of the talent pit mac left.
But by all means, please don't let facts or anything get in the way of a good scapegoating.
As far as the rest of it. Rhoads is BUILDING a program where there never really was one. It takes time.
I get sick of the offense too. But this staff needs continuity to BUILD a program where there wasn't one. We should be at least two years before we are at the fire the coordinator to save our *** phase of the program.

Got anymore brain busters? Ok. We are at our own 27, not the 5. THen we have.......
Inc pass, fumble, Inc pass, 8 yd rush, comp pass, Inc pass, fumble, sack, penalty, 5 yard rush,
End of half.
My point is that this play calling was of high risk of turning the ball over to Kansas at our own end of field--right before the half.
And, yes the zone read is NOT working. ISU got all its rushing yards on Barnette scrambling and Woody-last series..

lets see..................we won !!!

Re: Can someone list the great play calling Herman had yesterday....
I really hate to say it but....13 points is NOT gonna beat OSU/ OU/ or KState this year.....
Hermann has to be one of the worst offensive coordinators in the country.....
Hermann and Ken OKeefe could be brothers with their lousy play calling....

Re: Can someone list the great play calling Herman had yesterday....
The actual football knowledge on this board is falling. Tom Herman is not mother nature and cannot control the elements.

Hell, we shouldn't run it either because we fumble at least one hand off every game and we've had running backs cough it up so we can't run it.
Had a punt blocked this year too so we can't do that.
****, what play do we call? Send out the field goal team on our 17 yard line?
