2012 schedule
It hasn't been released yet, but hopefully the home/away games will switch. I think the 2012 schedule is MUCH more favorable than the 2011 or 2010.
Winnable games:
vs Tulsa
vs Western Illinois
@Iowa
@Kansas
vs K-state
vs Baylor
vs Tech
vs West Va
@ TCU
Remaining games
@ OSU
@ Texas
vs OU
Thats 9 games I give us a really solid shot at winning. In 2011, I did not think the schedule looked NEARLY as favorable and we are sitting at 5-4. Plus, I think we are going to be even better next year and baylor hopefully won't be as good. I like the 2 new games as well. I would much rather play @TCU then @WVa.
Thoughts? Its a bye week, so i thought we could talk a little about the future.

Re: 2012 schedule
I just keep praying we will go back to a divisional format at some point. That will be much better for us. You don't have to look much further than EIU for proof of that. They have 3 losses and could still win the Big 10.

Re: 2012 schedule
Is WV going to be in the Big 12 yet? Maybe we can get a MAC team.
Also, I don't think we play UNI next year, I think it might be Tulsa instead.
Yeah I just checked and it's Tulsa instead of UNI for the opener next year.

Re: 2012 schedule
It will be interesting to see how WVU and TCU transition to the Big 12. TCU should be better next year than this year (they are young on offense) as could WVU. Baylor/KSU/Tech are just wildcard teams, but those games are much more winnable in Ames than on the road. Iowa at Kinnick will be tough, but they could be even worse next year.
Pretty sure that we play Tulsa and not UNI, too. No way we're playing 2 FCS teams.

Re: 2012 schedule
Next year will be CPR's best season to date.

We certainly lose some key players. Im nervous about our offensive line play. We can win 9 games if they play outstanding. We could also lose 9 games if they don't play very well.

Is WV in for next year for sure?

I'm excited about the here and now. We've put ourselves in a chance to get to a bowl game by winning one of these last 3. Will certainly be tough but I believe. Plus it would be HUGE for us to get to a bowl and get a W. Would give us a ton of momentum going into next season. If we're gonna have a big year next year I think a bowl win would really set the tone for it. As coaches say a bowl isn't for the current year it's to build the program and get some excitement and momentum going into the next year.

Re: 2012 schedule
On a side note, is the Tulsa game for sure on Saturday 9/1? I thought at one point it was going to be a Thursday night game. Reason being, my sister in law decided to set their wedding date on 9/1. Fall weddings can be a pain in the *** to schedule because of such events. (I know from my own fall wedding, but that's why we had in on a Friday).

Thoughts? Its a bye week, so i thought we could talk a little about the future. I am not saying there aren't more winnable games but as we sit right now, including WV, we will be playing 8 bowl eligible teams next year, with TTech and Baylor at 5 wins. So it could be up to 10 possibly by year end. That is pretty crazy if you ask me. With that said I don't count us out of any game, but I would say next year will be tougher.....
