Re: Uniforms
I'd love the Cyclones to be Oregon-like with uniforms. It would be quite interesting to go to the stadium each week and be curious how they might look.

The yellow in our color scheme is just an ugly arse yellow and shouldn't be used as main color ever. I couldn't disagree more. Trotting out on national tv in any jersey is the complete opposite of a black eye on ISU. Plus, the players, and myself, really like the gold jerseys. I'm not sure why you think using our secondary color is such a bad idea for an alternate uniform.

Re: Uniforms
Anyone who knows anything about college football these days knows that if you want to turn a program around, you have to have as many uni combinations as possible. Look at some teams who have had recent success because they have updated their uniform choices: Oregon, TCU, Boise State, Okie State, and look for Maryland to step up in the next couple of years since they changed their uni look. Everyone knows that a bad player can become a good player, and a good player can become great given the proper color combination.

Re: Uniforms
Cyclone James its not "gold". It's yellow. It's a yucky mustard yellow. Looks like McDonalds logo should be on our helmet.
I can stomach the yellow pants but not the mustard puke yellow top we wore against Mizzou last year.

A double whammy of ridiculousness. Well done.

A LOT of people like the alternates and kids these days, LOVE the alternates. It doesn't even matter if they look great or not. It's flashy and the players and recruits almost always love it.
The "Get off my lawn" folks tend to hate them, but I don't think the AD cares all that much.
If ISU had as much tradition as the big boys in college football, we could stick to one thing and not have to worry about making a splash. But now, even Bama is mixing it up a little with uniforms. Anything that can create a buzz about ISU football, is good with me.
I would like to see Red - Yellow - Yellow, just to make it even more unique.

Re: Uniforms
Wearing the yellow tops just drove home the mcdonalds jokes always lobbed our way.
We should be more concerned with not pooping this game down out legs and not about what uniforms we wear.
A "majority" of fans??? Not sure if serious or drunk?

A "majority" of fans??? Not sure if serious or drunk? I am serious, I'm willing to bet a majority who voiced there opinion, liked em. The players liked em. Thats all the matters...

I could give a crap, but if the players want to wear them -- fine with me. Didn't work against MU, but could be real special if they worked this week.
Besides, what are we going to do? Spend that money and only wear the frickin things once? That does not sound like ISU.
Bring on the gold towels and gold unis!!!!! We may still be drilled, but Go Big or Go Home!

Re: Uniforms
No, not that sensitive.
A majority of fans don't really care about our uniform choice. It's the majority of the fans who actually open, post and respond in these threads who are obsessed with tinkering with our uniforms and who like trying any and all color combos.
