Keep in mind
Rhoads is trying to win these last 3 games with a back-up QB and a back-up running back. Yes, they were the back-ups preseason.
Also,
I see a lot of people posting how we "have 3 chances" to get a 6th win. Remember who were playing. 2 of the very best teams in the country and another top team @ their place on senior day. No easy task.

Re: Keep in mind
I have seen very few (if any) people post that they are confident in any of the final three games.
“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -
Re: Keep in mind
Didn't we beat Nebraska with a back up QB and back up RB? I like our chances!!

Re: Keep in mind
I understand trying to temper expectations, but until the end of the K-State game, we still have a chance to get to 6 wins.
K-State is pretty good this year, but ISU has also played pretty well this year at times. The only full game we have played all year was against Tech and we crushed them. If we play 4 quarters against Iowa, we beat them by double digits.
OSU and OU are very good teams. I understand some pessimism goind up against them, but they are not perfect. OU crapped their pants against the very same Tech team that we smashed into the ground. OSU has traditionally had a meltdown game, even when they have had their best teams. They have had a few scares this year against teams that are not as talented as they are. K-State for sure isn't as talented as OSU, but they took them to the wire. aTm is talented, but the Aggies ended up havign one of their 3rd quarter meltdowns to get OSU back in it.
It will take a gargantuan effort to beat OSU or OU, but it's not impossible. Out team is talented, particularly the starters. One of our biggest issues is when the starters are banged up or get tired. They should be healthier than usual having had a bye week to heal up. If they can play their best game so far this season, they have enough talent to take out an OSU team that has to be thinking about OU, even if only a little.
Don't bet the farm on 6 wins, but don't give up hope either. A lot of things can happen before the end of the regular season.

A preemptive strike against the epic, nuclear, fire the coach, shut down the program, bulldoze Jack Trice meltdown thread that is coming for Friday night.
Good job outta you.

Re: Keep in mind
I haven't given up hope, if we beat either ou or osu it will be one of the biggest upsets in college football in the last decade. Or beating possibly a top 10 ranked k state team on the road.
If we get 6 wins, coach Rhoads should be big 12 coach of the year. Again, without a starting RB or QB. And a banged up offense and defensive lines.

Coach Snyder deserves that award more than a six win Rhoads' team, since who would have predicted that KSU would be number three in conference standings. The best chance for ISU to go to bowl game is to hold their opponents under 24 points, and the most realistic opportunity for them to do that is against KSU. The defense is not going to stop OSU or OU but it might stop KSU's offense.

Re: Keep in mind
All this talk about the possibility of getting 6 wins this season...
At this point, THE POSSIBILITY IS STILL THERE OF GETTING TO 8 WINS!!!
I'm not trying to be overly optimistic but heck, why talk one more win when we should be approachng this as going after three more wins!
