A 28 year old vs young kids of 20 or under
I understand that Weeden is older than 2 of coach Rhoads' assistants, I know that he has baseball throwing arms, I know that he is the Brett Favre of QBs in Big 12.
However:
He is OLD, at some point when the pressure is consistently on him he WILL make mistakes.
A 28 year old's body cannot be as relentless as our defense.
Age is good but age is also bad when you can be frustrated and consistently under pressure.
Iowa State defense has been better recently. A struggling Kansas team was not struggling that bad against us - in fact I thought several times throughout the game that they would win it. Hell I even had a nightmare about it. Our defense was strong when we needed them to be. Why am I saying this? Well, here's why:
We need to put pressure on grandpa Weeden. We need pressure on the receivers and keep the whole field in front of us. The running back does a good job at OSU but their running game is NOT the main reason why they are blowing past teams. It's Weeden and he cannot be as relentless.
I do not think the weather would matter a bit. We just need to play an LSU caliber defense against OSU. Come on Cyclones! Let's become bowl eligible tomorrow!!!

What?
Signed, nearly every NFL QB.

I dunno. I think obviously his age will hurt his draft status, but 28 years old is considered the sweet spot in terms of athletic performance and strength in some sports. Baseball is one that I can think of off the top of my head.

You and I are Polar opposites when it comes to our feeling on the grand ol age of 28.

Did you forget :jimlad: ?
Re: A 28 year old vs young kids of 20 or under
Lol I think 28 yr old bodies might even be better at taking hits.
Males are at their physical strength peak at 30. They are at their speed peak at age 25. These are rough estimates. (per Charlie Francis)

I hate Aaron Rodgers, I don't think he's as great of a quarterback as much as he has great receivers that make him look good. He's good, but he isn't godly like his passer rating.

I am speaking from experience. I used to be good in volleyball and at age 30 I am barely average. Age gives you a ton of decision making experience but physically I would rather be young with good decision making ability than 28 with good decision making ability. Weeden is good because he doesn't get pressure. CPR said nobody breathes on the guy. We need to take him down EARLY and OFTEN.

In the last week the quality of this board has plummeted.

IMO, 28 year old maturity advantage > 21 year old physical advantage.
And that's assuming there is a physical advantage to being 21 vs. 28 which I don't really believe in this case. He hasn't been playing football or all of those years either, so it's not like he's been taking a beating the way an 28 year old NFLer would have been.

THIS! Myself, I'm 48+3 so I know I wouldn't want to be out there but 28?!!... that's the very pinnacle of your life in terms of physical shape in my opinion.
