You think Sherman will still be there next year? I don't at this rate.

They were expecting National Championship appearance.
Boosters cannot be happy, but idk what his buyout is.

Boosters cannot be happy, but idk what his buyout is. His buyout is somewhat in question right now. His first contract was all guaranteed money ($1.8MM per year). This summer he got an extension w/ his raise and local news reported this: Texas A&M football coach Mike Sherman gets raise, extension | Bryan/College Station, Texas - The Eagle
Sherman, who is 19-19 in three seasons, will be paid $2.2 million per year through March 2016, with A&M holding options for 2016 and 2017.
Sherman's current seven-year contract was scheduled to run through 2015 and it paid him $1.8 million annually. That contract, signed in December 2007, didn't have a buyout clause. Under the new agreement approved by Texas A&M's Board of Regents on Friday, Sherman would be paid $1.8 million if the pact would be terminated by A&M without cause before March 2012. The buyout would drop to $1.44 million in 2013, eventually sliding to $500,000 in 2016.
However, it sounds like that may not be correct and his extension is still guaranteed in-full as well. Local news outlets and TexAgs have filed FIOA requests to get a copy of the contract extension.
$2.2MM * 4 years = $8.8MM + prorated amount per month if fired before March 2012.

Re: Big 12 Coaching Salaries
Looks prettty damn good to me with Rhoads second in the conference in $$/wins. Can you believe Kansas gave Gill a 1.6 million pay increase over his job at Buffalo? Man that has got to be one of the most horrible hirings in the history of college sports.

Turner Gill should be locked up for stealing

Best ESPN comment I've seen in ahwile:
"Wow about how much money they make per DWI?"

Please don't throw out the first name you can think of that has exceeded this. I bet you the average life of a coach's stint at a given school in the last two decades is 8 years or less.
Rhoads has the program moving in the right direction, but who knows in 3 years whether he or the university still feel that way?

Re: Big 12 Coaching Salaries
Why in the world did they hire Sherman in the first place. Some hires look bad from day 1. Mike Sherman always made you go - wtf are they thinking?
Texas A&M might be little brother in the State. But even they could have done better.

Texas A&M might be little brother in the State. But even they could have done better. The Chancellor at the time was Mike McKinney who was very well know for hiring his buddies to top administrative positions.
His son, Steve McKinney, played for Sherman when he was Asst HC and OC at the Houston Texans.
