Anyone know how Tiller has looked in practice at WR?

It doesn't have to be WR, necessarily. Hasn't Steele played safety before?

If it's best for him to stay at QB, I love that, too, but it's obvious that the starting position is pretty well locked up now by Barnett.

IMHO Jantz should stay at QB. Doesn't he have better arm and wheels than JB? JB reminds me of Joe Montana - smart, likeable, mobile, but can't throw deep. His hail mary at the end of the half was very weak. Also, numerous fumbles, interceptions, and bad throws last night. That being said , he seems more effective than Meyer, Flynn, Arnaud, Tiller, or Jantz. Some type of quality he has that wins games.

That deep ball to Reynolds was a beauty.

Steele is a senior next year and there is no chance he goes to WR

    Re: Jerome Tiller

After seeing his(tiller) immaturity on the sidelines during the game, I'm not real sad.

Tiller is a senior too if he is eligible to play next year. Barring injury or a complete meltdown by Barnett Jantz is not going to start at QB again. Either a position change or transfer to a smaller school he can play at right away is the only way he sees significant playing time again at ISU. I don't think you can completely rule out a position change with his athletic ability.

Also realize that Sam Richardson is redshirting this year and a couple QB commits already for 2012 coming in too. IMO there is no point in wasting talent when we should have some depth and youth at QB and 2 guys with just 1 year of eligibility left that might possibly be able to contribute at another position.

This could get interesting. Two guys on the field who can throw and run...

I mean, if I'm him, I'm not sure how engaged I am with the team after having to sit out the season...
He shows up in the locker room video too. He looked pretty stoked.

What about injuries? It would seem that in this offense you need more than 1 quarterback. Anyone remember the 5th string quarterback playing in big upset of Neb bug eaters with Tommy Frazier and what shucker fans thought might be their best team ever.

    Re: Jerome Tiller

I think the problem with Steele moving to WR (or safety) is you are almost definitely going to need your backup QB at some point during the season. Not that I don't think Richardson will be good eventually, but I'd feel more comfortable with a guy with experience there.

Although it's hard to keep a good athlete off the field "just in case".

Could he move to WR for a limited number of sets and still play QB as well?

Barnett is going to get knocked out of a game or two, with his slight stature and running ability. He's usually limps off the field once or twice a game. Steele needs to stay at QB, and continue to get in as much QB work in as possible, unless Sam Richardson is clearly better than him, which I doubt is the case.

Yeah cause becoming academically ineligible and hitting up welch avenue establishments when you should be working hard to get your grades in line, is definitely a good egg.
