Kansas State road trip
Who is going to the Kansas State game? How about tailgating there?
Any advice from those who have been there before would be appreciated.

Re: Kansas State road trip
coming in from Denver. The town stinks, the girls are gross. So its the type of place you can go, make real bad decisions and not have to worry about showing your face again. Go Clones, **** Manhatten, KS.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -

Some friends and I were thinking bout going down but it looks like the end of the semester with projects and tests are going to get in the way.

Travelling with a group of 7 ISUers. We waited a bit long so had to settle for a less than stellar hotel.
Tailgating is all right, I was there for the 2004 (?) 21 point comeback game. Bring cups, you can't drink alcohol out of cans or bottles. Manhattan is very similar to Ames, Aggieville (their campus town) was a bit better than Welch (at the time) and is adjacent to the SE corner of the KSU campus.

Any advice from those who have been there before would be appreciated. Take plastic cups. If they see your beer can, it will be taken away by the super cops. I was not a big fan of tailgating there. They do have quite a few lots to tailgate in though. Enough room will not be a problem.

Their tailgating set up is similar to Ames, but smaller and dirtier. KSU fans are friendly. Put your drinks in plastic cups. Wear some ***** kickers, as they graze sheep in a lot of the non-donor tailgate lots. Never made it to Aggieville, but heard it described as similar to Campustown.
Manhattan kinda feels like Boone with a college, and I mean that as a sort of compliment. As ThatGuy says, it's probably a good place to get messed up and make bad decisions. No doubt it's a fun party.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -

Yes bring dixie cups or something of color to but drinks in. The funny part is they will give you clear garbage bags to put cans in, but you can't show it off. Also do not cross road with drink in hand. There rule is similar to iowa's. Depending on what lot you are in be careful for animal feces.
Otherwise, Aggieville is a fun time. Better food and bar options then campus town in Ames. Purple Pig is always where we end up. 3 of us sewer making the trip. My fourth time going down. Each time is a bit more fun, but the 2004 year was epic

Re: Kansas State road trip
I went to "migration" in college. Unfortunately, we were so drunk I don't remember much about it. I must have had fun.

Re: Kansas State road trip
That stadium is a ****-hole! Manhattan is by FAR the worst town in the conference. Their fans think they're an elite program...can't wait till Snyder finally retires for good, because they'll suck big time.
My experience in Manhattan was in the rain....made it all that much worse....from what I recall the bars were fun.

Re: Kansas State road trip
After reading the ISU-OSU game thread on the K-state message board, i thoroughly hope we bring a huge crowd down to Manhattan (myself included i hope!!) and we whoop the **** out of them. collin klein... meet Jake Knott, AJ Klein, Matt Tau fo ou, and Jake Lattimer.
Threat of a Lattimer attack is high.
