plus ku is 0-9 with one game left. I guess the loss to A&M counts as 2.

I have to agree about Texas. What have they shown to be on that many voter's ballot?

EDIT: I just read the list of unranked teams with less than 4 losses. Maybe ISU does belong!

Also, here is the list of top-50 teams with 4 losses, and their sagarin rank.

    16 Texas
    29 Iowa State
    30 Florida State
    31 Utah
    35 Auburn
    42 Iowa

I'd say Utah and Florida State are as good as Texas. Iowa State if they could beat OU would at least get some votes. The BCS system beyond the top 10-12 spots is pretty worthless, but it galls me that the only reason they're in there is because they're Texas. With their offensive woes, I'm not certain they'll win this week either.

I wish we had a crack at Texas now as opposed to earlier in the year - we'd have a much better shot at beating them now. We're a better team than we were then.

I do agree, but what bothers me about this statement, is it seems to have been taken directly off of a Hawkeye board talking about us. I've heard that after every game we beat them, except in 2001, when they said they would have beat us if we'd played them early in the year.

Texas loses at home to a team that mustered 121 yards of offense. Wow.

Ordinarily I'd agree, however, I think the stats bear out that what I claim probably isn't too far from the truth.

During our 4-game losing streak (Texas, at Baylor, at Missouri, Texas A&M), the average score was 43-19.

During our current 3-game winning streak (at Texas Tech, Kansas, Oklahoma St), the average score is 30-16.

I could get into yards given up versus gained, turnovers, etc., but I'm feeling particularly lazy at the moment. Yes, 2 of the 3 teams we beat are Texas Tech and Kansas, two bad teams, but Tech was rated #20 when we demolished them, not to mention on the road. I think an exhaustive study of the stats would show that we truly are a better team now than when we played Texas.
