I didn't see this posted yet on here but he said the Baylor-Oklahoma game as the best game in the Big 12 this weekend. What a load of crap!
Best game:Baylor 45, Oklahoma 38. This one went down to the final possession and two second-half comebacks. Lots of points and lots of fun. Polish it off with a field storming, and you've got yourself a classic. The dramatic finish gives the Bears' win an edge of the shocker in Ames. Honorable mention: Iowa State 37, Oklahoma State 31 (2 OT)
Was our game not a dramatic finish?
We only got best speech which I would agree with but "Come on Man!"
From a neutral standpoint, I can see what he is saying. That final TD RGIII threw was amazing.
I can see it somewhat because of the Stoops timeout while Baylor wanted Overtime, but beating the #2 team while unranked in 2OT should automatically get it... even if it was KU over Texas (just throwing two teams out there)
Perhaps he doesn't consider Friday part of the weekend? While our game was exciting Friday and into Saturday, it kinda went to the backburner after it was covered everywhere leading into games Saturday. By the time the afternoon and evening games started it almost felt like it was old news that might as well have happened last week.
He's measuring best game. OU was pretty beat up, and wasn't coached that well toward the end. The teams were evenly matched so the game may have been "best" in that regard - no real on-field mismatches (vs. OSU's offense which looked lightning fast and big against us, and an O-Line that stood up like a wall).
However, any "storming of the field" that allows a girl on crutches to survive simply doesn't understand the tsunami that spilled into Jack Trice on Friday. I was in the upperdeck, hanging onto a quivering rail, when the guts of both the lower deck and the Cowboys spilled out onto the field in a simultaneous flood.
Best game? Fine, give it to the Sooners. More perfect storm? Not even a contest. The Crutchless Thunder take that title in a runaway hurricane.
