Re: Rhoads to Ohio State?
As much as anyone may not believe it, I think Rhoads is here as long as he can be. He wants ISU at the top. Like many have said this is his home. I have also said this plenty of times. Rhoads has said to other coaches that this is his dream job and he would rather be here than the likes of USC.

So this whole rumor is from a guy on Hawkeye Nation? Sounds like he would have a lot of insight.

That said, I passionately disagree with your "Rhoads would be an idiot to turn down the Ohio St Job" comment. The top reason for him to leave is $$$$. Sometimes people don't put that at the top of their list, and I would think CPR is one of those people.
****Note - ISU should still pay this guys as much as they can! I'd rather not give him a reason to leave! Money and the chance to win to multiple national titles and be the best in his profession.

That said, there's no way Ohio St goes after him. I disagree with every word in this post.

Re: Rhoads to Ohio State?
I go to school with both of Rhoads's sons at Gilbert, and from what I know, that family likes it here and will do whatever it takes to stay. They've had to move ALOT over the years and it hasn't been easy on their family, and they really want their boys to finish school here before they go off to college. The youngest is a HS freshman, so I doubt Rhoads is going anywhere for at least the next 4 years, if not longer....

OSU is going to be a mess for a number of years until they can put the last several years behind them. USC got hit a lot less hard than OSU did in terms of NCAA discipline - are they at the moment a top 5 job?

" I think" and it is followed with pure speculation, pretty much useless.

Re: Rhoads to Ohio State?
Anyone know if there's any truth behind JP offering a raise in pay last offseason, and he turned it down, telling him to reinvest that money into facilities? If so, then people need to get off the "Pay the guy his $$$" line because if this said story is true then $$$ is not a motivator for him and won't be what pulls him away from Ames (if that ever happens).

CFH and his wife are in this level as well with the "all in" notation. AD JP is in this level as well, but he is not "all in". this struck me as extremely odd, since it's his idea, and he is pushing it, but he isn't doing it himself??

Not 30 over three years with no bowls for two years like USC.

The level of expectations will be pretty high. Again . . bad thinking. ISU MUST NOT EVER lose this coach . . . if the money is right, he will stay.
