Rhoads to Ohio State?
Still on Cloud 9 over the win over the Pokes.
I work in Columbus; reliable source in the athletic department told me that Urban Meyer is balking and that Coach Rhoads in on the short list. This disturbs me greatly.

Just because Ohio State wants Rhoads doesn't mean Rhoads wants Ohio State.

Re: Rhoads to Ohio State?
If ISU keeps winning someone will eventually hire him away, I just hope it is 3 or 4 more years so there is a base of good players for his replacement to work with. I think he really likes being at ISU, but there are a lot greener pastures out there for him, and if he goes, I will not blame him. I just don't think that the OSU job is all that great right now. The level of expectations will be pretty high.

Funny, you sport the ANF sticker but then turn around and try to slam us for "being farmers" every chance you get...

I don't think Pollard is fat.

Re: Rhoads to Ohio State?
As much as we love Rhoads, and as honest and loyal as he may be, turning down a job at Ohio State would be pretty tough thing to do. They are one of the richest programs and have one of the better programs in history. They are a very prestigious athletic school.

You people who think you know what he's thinking and that Ohio State would in no way be an interest of his, are only fooling themselves.

The level of expectations will be pretty high. Maybe, maybe not. I just visited with a young man who was making close to a quarter million a year and walked away from it to make far less back home. This is Rhoads home. Sometimes that means more than money.

If Ohio State recruits him and he publically turns them down, he will solidify his role as the most trustworthy coach in NCAA football.
How many coaches can really believe to stay for the 4-5 years of the time that a recruit will be there? Not very many.
At that point, he will position himself even stronger for recruitment.

Re: Rhoads to Ohio State?
Sometimes when you have an 80 plus year old dad and everyone loves you. It's hard to tell your pops that you have chosen to move away from him late in life and maybe see him a few more times a year before he dies so that you can take a job in Ohio. Maybe, Just Maybe, a guy would love to stay where everyone likes him. Not to much pressure. He get's to spend time with his father on a weekly basis in the last years of his life and his pride speaches will only be good if they win a National Championship. You can't give the "So Proud" speach if you win at Ohio State.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.
