Re: Louisville coaches telling recruits they will be in the Big 12
"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the clichés of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."

They probably will be once the Big 12 renegotiates the TV contract.

The sooner we get back to 12, the better.

Who else sees some new Big 12 North titles in ISU's future? I feel pretty good about competing in a division with Kansas, K-State, WVU, Louisville, and probably Cincinnatti.

But I'm a Big 8 kid, soon to be a Big 5 kid.

This will not happen till at least 2013 maybe 2014. All depend on the Big East getting the exit few situation resolved....

I think it may benefit us in the short term to get to 12 teams because we have a better shot at winning the North, but I think the divide would grow greater between North and South teams, much like it was in the past. If we were to stay combined, we would play better competition more often, play more Southern teams, making us stronger conference. Having a North/South is like wanting to play in the MWC so that we get more wins, even though they aren't quality wins. Then again, I like wins...

Cross your fingers for a geographic alignment rather than the mix-and-match divisions of the Big 10 and ACC.

Who else is going to use a road trip to Louisville as an excuse to tour the Wild Turkey distillery?
