Which win would be bigger today?

Would a win vs Kansas St against a top 25 team to bring us to 7-5 be bigger than a win against Michigan, a top 25 team to bring us to 6-2 in basketball?

If we win both this could be one of the best days in ISU history.
If we win one of the two its still pretty dang good.
If we lose both it will be one depressing day.

I think the football win would be bigger because we go to 7-5 and get a better bowl but at the same time, if our basketball team loses we move to 5-3 which is depressing.

    Any thoughts?

Football would be bigger. Last game and if we win, I think it will greatly improve our bowl. Basketball would be big too but still a lot of season left.

I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads

Every win in FB is big time. And it would be great to have a 7 wins with the third toughest schedule in the nation when we were only suppose to have 2.

So many more games in mbb means that one game is not nearly as important.

That being said of course I want both wins!

Would be a big win for both, but I voted basketball. I think a win today against Michigan would help some of us heal from the losses against UNI and Drake.

Re: Which win would be bigger today?

I woild obviously love to see a basketball win today because I have an upside down maize and blue M staring me in the face right now, but a football win is significantly more important than a basketball win today. There are a lot more basketball games against solid teams on the schedule, while there's only one football game left that will help determine where our guys are playing over the holidays.

Re: Which win would be bigger today?

Our big wins could end up hurting us more than anything.

Win against K-State and K-State is out of BCS and we go to Pinstripe.
Win against Okie State knocked them out of the title and now we have 2 SEC teams in.

That being said - I cannot root against ISU... onwards to 7-5

Re: Which win would be bigger today?

This isn't even a question, IMO. Another road win in the B12 over a ranked opponent would be huge. That would make 3 top 25 teams that we beat this year. That might be the most ever.

7-5 with one of the hardest schedules in the country would be as good of a coaching job as we've ever seen at ISU in FB or BB

Football. No matter what basketball does today, it's still a long season.

getting to 7 for football would be a huge step for this program and beating another ranked team would do a lot for our bowl position. I'd like to see both, but if I had to choose, I want a football win.

Who cares! I don't want KSU in the BCS anyway. If we lose to them, theres still only a 1% chance they make it into the BCS

Re: Which win would be bigger today?

I think the likelihood of an upset in a basketball game is greater than football, so that takes away from the basketball win. I would like the football team to win because I think it would mean a whole lot more, but I would take either. If we lose both it would make a gloomy day more gloomy and I wouldn't start any meltdown threads.

Nah, I don't care bout K-State either... but would be nice to get 2 teams in...

Plus 7-5 probably gets us in Pinstripe... hoping a win would bump us past that though.

I voted BBall. Beating KSU isn't going to turn our football season around, we don't need it to be turned around.

A road win vs. a ranked team in BBall could be a catalyst to go forward to a good season.
