Yup, JB probably could have picked up a big gain had he kept it. That play, in that situation just doesn't play to Woody's strengths. I wanted the ball in his hands, just not like that.

This one goes on the defense, I feel they got punched a lot more in the mouth than punches thrown by them.

This is totally not the same team that got sideswiped by Texas and Missouri.

I'm just glad we're bowl eligible.. would've been a tough way to end the season had we needed that game for eligibility.

Great heart and effort by the Cyclones today. I'm proud to be an Iowa State University graduate and fan today. Go Cyclones!!!

Re: ******OFFICIAL IOWA STATE vs KANSAS STATE POST-GAME THREAD******
good effort...easily could have gone the other way. A couple miscues and we all knew we needed to not misfire.

Re: ******OFFICIAL IOWA STATE vs KANSAS STATE POST-GAME THREAD******
Great effort today. Just a few mental errors made the difference and K-State executed well and didn't hurt themselves. We had a terrible defensive series with the game on the line and couldn't answer, despite pulling out gambles and 4th down conversions.
Nice to see that KSU wasn't physically much different from us outside of our terrible receivers and TE. Barnett missed a lot of reads in the run game, but KSU was pretty disruptive and had some well-timed blitzes so I give them credit.
Looking forward to the bowl practices and bowl game. Hoping for someplace within driving distance.
Cheers

I know that the defense missed some tackles today and had some mistakes, but they held KSU below their season scoring average of 33.4 points. On the other hand, ISU's offense scored right at their season average of 23.5 points.
The bottom line is that ISU's offense has to start scoring more points for ISU to finish better in the conference than where they did this year. Herman has to change that. Some of that is player personnel I know. But some of that is coaching too.

Still ******. Losing 4-straight to KSU should not happen.
That is all.

That is all. I know what you mean and it hurts, but all of the losses have been home games or the equivalent for KSU. Have we even been favored in any of them? You just have to tip your hat to Old Snaggletooth - the guy is a helluva coach. Can anyone honestly say there is a guy out there in the BCS getting more production out of less talent than him?
That's a tremendously coached team we just played. They make so few mistakes and just grind it out.

That's a tremendously coached team we just played. They make so few mistakes and just grind it out. Take away the questionable "horse-collar" and "interception" and the number of mistakes is pretty even. As it should be, the two teams have been even for 4+ years. KSU does have a better QB.
