Brilliant call. Who would have thought CPR would take the ball out of JB's hands and let Woody run laterally? The best laid plans ..........

The bottom line is that ISU's offense has to start scoring more points for ISU to finish better in the conference than where they did this year. Herman has to change that. Some of that is player personnel I know. But some of that is coaching too.
We may have held KSU below their season average (by a measly 3 points or so), but they scored right at our defense's PPG average of 29.5. We're looking at a lot of 4 to 6 win seasons if we're scoring 23 PPG and giving up 29 PPG. One of those numbers, if not both, need to improve.

need a qb who can complete a ball farther than 10 yards downfield.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Three points isn't "measly". KSU also gives up 28.3 points a game. The defense held a ranked opponent below it's scoring average, and the offense wasn't able to reach the average score that that ranked opponent gives up. Yes, both offense and defense should improve, but if you take a look at the Big 12 defense and offensive stats, it seems pretty clear which one needs the most improvement. And it's not the defense...

Need an offensive scheme that doesn't self-compress itself and clog up everything within 25 yds of the line of scrimmage...

I think our d-line has played great the last half of the season. One of the biggest surprises this year.
