Plus-1
This year is the exact situation where a plus one would fix everything. It isn't even difficult in the slightest to do and doesn't change anything except one game. Just have the national championship between the winner of #1-#4 and #2-#3. Don't even need a huge overhauled playoff or anything. Simple and easy. Plus more money. Why not?

Re: Plus-1
Anything short of a 16 team playoff would not fix the problem. Every conference champion and 5 at-larges.. It would make sooooo much money too. Heck, D3 schools play a 32 team playoff, travel across the country, etc.
College football could be so much better.

College football could be so much better. Disagree. Teams outside of the top 4 can't claim they're championship worthy.

Still need a rule barring teams that don't win a conference from the plus-1. (Or bar them if the champ from their conference doesn't also make it).
The idea of letting in Stanford over Oregon wouldn't sit well with me

I'm just saying that a plus one does fix the problem here because you let the teams that are championship worthy play each other.

College football could be so much better. I support that kind of playoff (I could possibly see ranking the auto-bid conferences and allowing more at-large -- only because I think that would be more likely to find approval).
Either a viable playoff, or I'm OK with a plus-1. Either one is preferable.

Re: Plus-1
I say 8 team playoff. I think more than just the top 4 are good enough to win it but numbers 10-16 just aren't. Lots of TV's willing to watch and lots more money to be made. And it is clearly a more fair shot for all teams with a case at playing in the NC game.

The problem with that is you absolutely HAVE to have the champion of every conference involved........ And the SEC will want at least 4 so....

Re: Plus-1
To fix this problem put a rule in that you have to win your conference to play in the BCS title game.

Even if there would be 6 one loss teams I can't think of a year when I thought the number 5 team in the country should have been the champion. Its not about giving everybody a shot. Its about getting the 2 best teams in the championship game.

Re: Plus-1
screw a +1, OSU vs. LSU would literally BE a +1.
