P.S. I strongly recommend TerraBlues. It is a great blues joint. Very intimate. And outstanding music. Yes! Excellent recommendation for a great blues venue. There are a large assortment of jazz bars and the like around the City. But for great blues, you've got to hit this place. Here is there website: T E R R A B L U E S -

Either way, my cheap *** will call tomorrow to avoid the fee! I see what you mean, I was thinking your were buying from stub-hub something along those lines.
We are getting our tix as a christmas present but I know they bought us the $115 tix and the total for each ran about $125 so I assume those are just taxes and their wasn't a "ticketmaster fee."

Re: ***OFFICAL: I BOOKED MY TRIP THREAD***
I called the ISU ticket office and they told me there was no way to avoid the $30 fee, even if I came into the office and ordered them in person.
I've got my tickets and my travel is booked! We're flying from Minneapolis and staying with friends in Manhattan. Now comes the waiting game... and hoping for good weather.

If you guys really want to get some good rates on hotels in the NYC/NJ area I suggest doing some research and reading the following two web sites then bidding on Priceline. I live in the NYC/NJ area and for events like B-day parties or Super Bowls (when I'm drinking and don't want to drive) I have won the Westin in Jersey City NJ for an average of $75 a night thru priceline but make sure you read the following two web sites and use their strategy, remember also look into NJ hotels along with Manhattan hotels and NYC area airport hotel (which include Jersey City, Hoboken, Weehawken, try to stay along the NJ waterfront or manhattan if you can afford it).

I've never been to NYC before. This trip is just too good to pass up.

Flights are booked, just working on the hotel situation.
I wanted to take a minute to thank the New York/New Jersey posters who took the time to give hints, ideas and tips. You rock!!
Looking forward to a great experience!

If you end up taking the bus into Port Authority, you're going to need to walk two avenues to 42nd St/6th Ave (Bryant Park), where you'll take the D train uptown to Yankee Stadium.
If you end up taking the train from Secaucus, you'll be going into Penn Station (34th St & 7th Avenue), where you can then walk an avenue east and pick up that same D train at Herald Square.
Have a good trip. Hey, thanks for clearing that up. In fact, the NJ bus schedule flyer I saw says "NYC Transit subway trains A, C, E, N, R, S, 1, 2, 3,4 and 7 serve the PABT." I'm glad you stepped in to clear up the inaccuracy ... it's a lot better to know before I get there!
Do you have a suggestion about whether it would be better to use the NJ bus to the Port Authority and then walk to Grand Central, or is there a good way to get to Secaucus Junction station from my hotel (by the Meadowlands Convention Center and Mill Creek Mall)? Just wondering whether it's better to bus/walk/subway or find a way to get to the New Jersey train into Penn Station.
Thanks a bunch! It's great to get help from you folks in the NYC area!

We are staying at the Double Tree by Hilton in Fort Lee, would anyone know of the best way to get to the stadium for the game and Times Square for some sightseeing?
