Fail
"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr -
Re: Steele's Team

Re: Steele's Team
Looks like somebody used the recap of the UConn game for their research.

Re: Steele's Team
What are you guys talking about. It's obvious that the Pinstripe bowl did so much research that they found out Steele is going to be the starting QB for the bowl game, before all of us.

Re: Steele's Team
Gary Nova is also our backup QB (true freshmen)
We will likely have 2 QBs ready to go. Our starting QB, Chas Dodd (true sophomore) can move the chains, less turnover prone but can't make all the throws due to being 5-11 in height in a pro offense and cannot evade sacks well...
6-2 Gary Nova CAN make all the throws, can evade sacks, more mobile in the pocket BUT makes a LOT of bad decisions and turns over the ball at an alarming rate... with INTS, fumbles, throwing after passing the LOS, not throwing the ball away (you name it).
IF our OL starts to run block well (has only occurred a few times this season) we will likely use the power running game to eat up clock and exhaust your D with passing on 3rd down and a mix of 1st and 2nd downs. Look for a 60%run 40%pass if this happens (like we did against Cincinnati)...
If not we will likely try to eat clock using the short passing games (bubble screens, slants etc). Our team is built to maintain high TOP so that opposing Ds get exhausted and our fast D stays fresh (our D has SEC speed not SEC size)... it hasn't always worked this season though... -

Re: Steele's Team
"We are thrilled to have the chance to extend our season with a bowl trip to New York City," said Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoades. "Our team has improved all season, and is playing its best football. Every year we start with a goal of winning a bowl game, and we'll have the opportunity in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl against an outstanding Rutgers team."
Excellent work...
