Still no LJ onthe first team. Agree that Byndom deserves it, but what exactly did Brodrik Brown do this year? Shut down Jeff Fuller, who was the most underperforming player in the Big 12?Quote:

Keep in mind he was carted off the field this year in a freak accident with Dutch and still came back and dominated!
Appearantly there is a rule that prohibits ISU from having 2 first team linebackers because that is the only way to explain AJ being left off the 1st team by AP but being named co-defensive POY by coaches.
Apparently playing the best WR in college football to a standstill is not first team worthy?
Maybe the crucial personal fouls did him in.
For LJ it's a numbers game. I haven't checked, but I am guessing that the corners on the first team probably have more INTs than LJ.
LJs numbers were hurt by teams going away from him and trying to pick on Reeves. The biggest game for LJ this year is when Weeden kept trying to force it to Blackmon. That was the most I had seen LJ this year and he answered the bell.
I agree Weeden was trying to force the issue with Blackmon. Daring LJ to stand up to the talent of Weeden to Blackmon, and I would say he did as good if not better job than anyone else that had played against that duo.Quote:

The AP knows nothing. How many ISU games do you think the voters actually watched? KO and Jake were preseason first team, so they were on the first team. AJ probably outplayed Jake this year - possibly due to Jake's injuries - but do you really expect the media to know this? Do you really think they watched the games? No. The coaches did, of course, and AJ was awarded properly.
