Nearly 4,000 tickets sold for Pinstripe Bowl
I'm hearing that Iowa State is almost to 4,000 tickets sold for the Pinstripe Bowl. The school's allotment is 5,000.

This is in line with my estimate of 6-7k at the game overall.

The Register had said the allotment was 4k. Did that change?

I really hope we show up in full force i really really wish i could afford it this year but there is just no way... hopefully next year... as last bowl game in Arizona was a blast
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

We will sell most of our 4k through the AD and then there will be another 2-3k that buy them elsewhere IMO.

I was told that the allotment is "around 5 K."

Re: Nearly 4,000 tickets sold for Pinstripe Bowl
I really like the idea of the Pin Stripe Bowl, but if any Bowl should be mid December that's the one.
Makes the travel cost much more realistic than New Year's and also makes poor weather slightly less likely. I may have considered the trip in the Dec15-Dec22 range.
Even one of the less prestigious January bowls would make more sense than NYE.
For those spending the money they'll get the cool NYC NYE experience, but I'm guessing more fans would want to just experience NYC and the game at a lower hotel/travel cost.

Looks like we have a car load going out, and I think we're all going to buy them through other sources.
Good to see this though. I think KSU only sold 3200 last year.

Extremely happy to hear about the Cyclone turnout.
The only concern I have is 5,000-plus Iowa State fans in Cyclone gear in New York City doesn't make the same impact as 5,000-plus Iowa State fans in Cyclone gear in Phoenix.

If anyone wants to sponsor a grad student and his wife, I'd be honored to consider that a coupon of the highest magnitude.
