Utah fan needs a favor...and musings on the Fighting Snookies

Hey Cyclone:

I'm here to shamelessly ask for a favor. I'm one of three finalists in a FB contest to win a full trip to Utah's Sun Bowl game...it's one of those contests where you just have to get a bajillion "likes" to win. Anyway, I'm pandering to the handful of online communities I frequent to boost my "likes" because obviously a free trip to see my team in a bowl game is worth it. Plus, it'd be my kid's first bowl game and would be a lot of fun! If you'd like to do something kind today go to this link and then like it:

Utah fan, why are you pandering here?

Well, I lurk your site...sometimes post....usually when you guys have a good win or something (The overtime wheel route is one of the most beautiful things I've seen this season). I've always had good interactions on this board and I really like the site and your fans. So that's why.

I also like your coach...a lot. I've been surprised that his name hasn't been popping up more frequently on the coaching carousel. I was surprised Illinois didn't make a bigger push for him. I wouldn't touch Penn State with a 50 foot pole. Now that Todd Graham bolted (literally) to ASU, I would have a bit of heartburn over the Pitt speculation. If I'm not mistaken Rhoads has some connections there and Pitt needs a coach that comes with some substance and toughness. In the end I don't think Pitt is a better job than Iowa State and I don't think Rhoads should (or needs to) look outside of ISU. He's got a good thing going with you guys and you keep teetering on the verge of a major breakout in the Big 12 and national scene....it's coming.

So, you're playing the Mighty Fighting Snookies of Rutgers? You guys are going to kill them. I'd imagine it to be a fairly physical battle, but expect ISU to wear the Snookies down as their fans fist pump their way out of Yankee Stadium and hit the clubs early in the 4th quarter.

You forgot to mention: "I also like you because we completely destroyed you, in your house, last time we met up."

In spite of this (and your team inexplicably dropping the ball against Colorado this year, absolutely killing me on what I thought was as close to a lock as there was to be had at the end of the season), you are getting a like, because I'm contrary like that.

Now get yourself to the Sun Bowl, yell like spirit prison and beat the stingers off those crazy yellow jackets.

Yeah, thanks! I'm still not over the Colorado loss (facepalm...double facepalm). Yell like spirit prison....bahahahahaha!!
