Re: B1G/PAC 12 Partnership
I would say once 2017 rolls around, the Iowa/ISU game will become pretty much non-existent. If the B1G plays 9 conference games, most of the teams will play 2 cupcake teams and stop scheduling games with other BCS programs

Re: B1G/PAC 12 Partnership
Because Iowa or any B1G outside Ohio State would not be man enough to go through a schedule like you are describing.
Oh, BTW, this is exactly what ISU's schedule was this year.

Wow they've found another way to ruin rivalry games across the country.

Re: B1G/PAC 12 Partnership
Anyone that thinks the ISU/Iowa game will end is delusional. It won't happen, heads would roll. Think Michigan or USC will stop playing Notre Dame? Nope. You want to be in a big-time conference you better be ready to play big-time games.

Re: B1G/PAC 12 Partnership
In the article, Delaney says the B1G will likely rethink its move to a 9-game conference schedule. This will likely play a big role.

If it does end it will be because Iowa is afraid to play ISU (just like last time they quit the series) and that is the only reason it will end. Look no further than hawk fans in this thread afraid of the very schedule ISU played THIS year.

Times are a changing, and one better learn to embrace them and accept the new challenges. Oh, but some fear change (any change).

But schedules will certainly change with all of the conference realignment and partnerships like this. Should be interesting to watch.

The big 12 should look at doing something like this too. Do 8 conf games, and maybe get a deal done with the ACC to guarantee we all have 9 BCS opponents a year to keep our tv partners happy.

Re: B1G/PAC 12 Partnership
Plus it's not likely Iowa is going to get lined up with a marquee Pac-12 program like Oregon/Stanford/USC. The quality of team falls off pretty steeply after those 3.
