Opposing teams loved it. Made it real easy to spot our best players and "target" them.

We will be HOME team tomorrow. IMO, we should wear our traditional HOME Uniforms. The same Uniforms we wore when we defeated Okie State on national TV and shocked the Nation.

But this thread wasn't about an alternate uniform like you describe. I don't have a problem with them with the White unis, or if we were to add white stripes inside the yellow on our shirts and the red in our pants, I think they'd look great. But everything I've been told is that we are wearing our home uniforms tomorrow and this experiment has already been run and no one liked the white helmets with the home uniforms. It would look terrible, just like it did when the uniforms were first presented. Changing something solely for the sake of change isn't always the best idea.

If I recall, he handed out a red helmet for some great achievement or something like that, while everyone else still wore the Yellow "cyclones" helmet.

I believe it was Waldon not Criner who did that. And 'Stormin' is right, the other teams tee'd off on that poor sap that was wearing it. Didn't really give any of his players an incentive to over achieve when they would just get laid out the next week - and his record showed it.

It was Criner. A friend of my families son played for him. Jeff Wodka. He wore the alternate helmet a couple of times.

This is the first alternate helmet we need.... yellow just like this, but with our current logo. It could be worn at home and on the road if we wanted. White would only work on the road with the all white look IMO. A white helmet with a red jersey and yellow pants would look awful IMO.

Yellow helmets would look great!

Exactly. (Sample 1)

Only way it could work white-red-gold requires throwing white trim into helmet, jersey and pants, and there's no good way to make that look consistent, either (sample 2) and requires further alternates that don't improve anything, really.
