Way Too Early 2012 Predictions
Don't even have a schedule yet but now that the 2011 season is over... take a shot at it.
At least we know who will be on the schedule (barring a WVU/Big East snafu), even if we aren't sure where ISU will be playing them.
vs. Tulsa
@ Iowa
vs. Western Illinois
Baylor
Kansas
Kansas State
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
TCU
Texas
Texas Tech
West Virginia
I will be an optimist here and predict an 8-5 season (after the bowl game of course) for the Cyclones. There are tough games on that schedule, but there aren't any that I look at and count as automatic losses anymore. -
Re: Way Too Early 2012 Predictions
Very similar to this year. Lower tier bowl game will likely be the destination. Tulsa is a testy opener but I see it similar to the Northern Illinois game 2 yrs ago.
Setting the table for year 5 aka the breakout year for CPR and the Clones.

vs. Tulsa W
@ Iowa W/L
vs. Western Illinois W
Baylor W/L
Kansas W
Kansas State W

TCU W/L
Texas L
Texas Tech W
West Virginia L
I think 7-5 or 6-6, with a bowl win bringing it to 8-5 or 7-6.
Iowa, Baylor and TCU are my toss-ups, winning 1 or 2 of the 3.

We start the season 6-0. And then go 1-5 the rest of the way.

Re: Way Too Early 2012 Predictions
Tulsa will be the deal breaker. If we can knock off Tulsa right off the bat I think we'll be ok. Iowa will be rebuilding. So that's a toss up. Western Illinios should be a victory.
I can see us starting out 3-0 with a tough conference schedule ahead. Out of that, we should at the minimum win 3 more games. I see either a 6-6 record or we could be 8-4 before the bowl games.

Re: Way Too Early 2012 Predictions
vs. Tulsa............win, BYU was bad this year
@ Iowa.............loss, we both have big holes to fill, and it's at Iowa
vs. Western Illinois...win, WIU isn't good anymore
Baylor.......loss, their talent level has gone up tremendously under Briles
Kansas.....win, might be the worst BCS football program in the country
Kansas State.....w/l guess it depends on their juco transfers
Oklahoma.......loss, they have too much talent and qb will have experience by then
Oklahoma State....loss, too much speed and payback
TCU...loss, hate them in Big 12, even harder to recruit texas now
Texas....loss, they'll be much better next year, 18 freshman playing in '11? wow
Texas Tech...win, Tech doesn't know what they want to do on O or D right now
West Virginia....w/l home team wins
I've got my over under at 4 or 5 depending on whose home against WVU. I think the oline/dline/back 4 replacements are too much to expect more. I'll take 5-7 sight unseen right now. Another 6-6 would give me the same level of pleasure as this year did, which would be outstanding.

Re: Way Too Early 2012 Predictions
6-7 wins plus a bowl game, and that will make me very happy.

Re: Way Too Early 2012 Predictions
6-6 would be my prediction. If we can go 3-0 in the non-conference then I would say 7-5.
8-4 would be extremely good. 5-7 would be acceptable, but slightly disappointing. 4-8 would be a huge let down.

8-4. Losses to Ok State, Texas, TCU, and OU.
