C+. I picked to go 6-6 at the beggining of the year. Thought we did a ****** job of finishing off the year in the bowl game. Didn't like the play of the QBs most of the year. Both Steele and Jared have to improve by alot.

I went B+, it was a very weird year with some great moments but some days we just looked lost. The good news is that for the first time in a long time the good far outweighed the bad. When you look at things like filling a lot of recruiting spots early and the attendance/atmosphere at JTS this year and I can't see giving it anything lower than a B.
The only bigger turnoff than finding out a woman smokes, is finding out she's a Husker fan.

    Re: Grade the 2011 Season

    C+

Oklahoma State was huge, Iowa win was a lot of fun. Getting to a bowl game again was great. These are not to be forgotten.

But looking at it objectively, unfortunately we also had some other duds in there. Missouri, Texas, the bowl game. Our offense was subpar most of the year. We're obviously still building, so while there's plenty to criticize, the sky isnt falling either.

Aside from Okie State we didnt really beat anyone worth writing home about. And in those other wins, we didnt look all that impressive. Our nonconference schedule wasnt as difficult as we originally thought itd be (uconn was 6th in the BE, Iowa isnt much to write home about either), and we shouldve won those games by much greater margins. Texas Tech isnt a good team (the points we put up on them were average, though our defensive dominance in that was impressive), and Kansas, despite a win, was definitely still a dud when we only score 13 on a team that was letting everyone else hang 40, 50, 60, even 70 points on them.

Fan turnout however gets an A+. Outstanding all season. Hopefully everyone holds onto their season tickets next year with a bit of a diminished draw next year.

Gameday environment also gets an A. There are still areas for improvement, but it had substantial improvement this year.

Overall pleased with the results, but felt we missed some opportunities. I really want the Texas and K-State games back. Beating Iowa and Oklahoma State in the fashion we did shows a lot about how this program is moving forward. Performances like @Missouri and the bowl game left a little stink, but we all know rebuilding a program isn't smooth.

This is what I was most pleased about this season. We are definitely starting to change the culture around ISU football.

    Re: Grade the 2011 Season

    I think B-
A few things that brought it down were the performances against Missouri and Texas and the Bowl loss. This team needs to stop having games where they just completely come out flat. Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Iowa wins brought up the grade and a solid showing against Kansas State.
