Ferch to walk on.
Drake Ferch to walk-on, appears to be persuading younger Dalton to do the same. Drake Ferch to take preferred walk-on spot with Iowa State - TimesRepublican.com -
Re: Ferch to walk on.
Good to hear...should be solid special teams players at a minimum for both of them. They could surprise and make legit impacts as well. Good athletes.

Re: Ferch to walk on.
These are the kind of hard working and talented Iowa kids that too often get overlooked, and I think CPR is trying to make sure that doesn't happen under his watch. Others on that list would be Jake Knott, Jesse Smith and Jeff Woody. Great to have Drake in the program and would love to see Dalton join him.

It sounds like Duncan may be a possibility as well. He made an all state team as a soph. West Marshall’s Dalton Ferch named 2A captain - TimesRepublican.com | News, Sports, Jobs, Community info - Times Republican Yes the title of the linked article highlights Dalton, but the story talks about Duncan as well...

I'll take these kind of kids every day of the week, but I don't see much here but special teams fodder. But we need that too.

Re: Ferch to walk on.
It would be really cool to have all 3 of those guys end up at ISU.
After listening to WM get completely shut down by Spirit Lake in the playoffs, do they have anybdody from that D that stands out?

Re: Ferch to walk on.
I said it in the other thread but I'll say it again, the Ferch kids are outstanding athletes and work extremely hard. They will each earn their way on the field in some capacity.

Re: Ferch to walk on.
Great news. These are the type of kids that the preferred walk-on spot is made for. Small town Iowa guys who are hard workers but need more development. These guys should thrive in the program and should contribute on special teams at the least and possibly more. Duncan seems intriguing because he is first team as a DE but also the teams leading receiver. Kid sounds big and athletic whereas his brother don't have his size.

Re: Ferch to walk on.
younger one did not make trip to visit SD...reliable source told me yesterday both are coming.
I have not seen the youngest of the three play..but have heard he is likely most talkented of the three.
they have some talent. will see if work ethic is blue collar enough to turn a walk on status into a scholarship success.

This is Bryson McCabe from SL who I believe is a free safety lighting up ferch. Not sure if he is much of a prospect or who else on the team might be, I was just impressed with the clean hit and timing.
Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd
