No, he didn't play at all and he was a senior, and he battled an injury. There was speculation he would get a medical redshirt and come back... I'm thinking since he hasn't cracked the field and got much playing time, his scholarship was better used on a new recruit.

AY played a lot the first few games of the 2010 season and missed this entire year with a knee injury.

Simon is visiting this Friday.
His Rivals page was just updated showing ISU and Arkansas alone with HIGH interest. It also lists him as having an offer from ISU, but not Arky. He is visiting Arky on 1/20.

Seems like Arky is hesitant to pull the trigger on an offer, possibly due to qualifying risk.

Arkansas has what looks like 3 HS Corners commited already. ISU has 2 JuCo DBs and Charles Rodgers, who looks like a safety prospect to me.
Hopefully Simon notices this and realizes he would be a bigger piece of the puzzle at ISU.


As for other corners, I'm not sure. I think Will Watson is officially out of the mix. I haven't heard much on anyone else and I don't think any other CBs are visiting at this point. DaCarlos Renfro is an intriguing prospect but there hasn't been any movement with him lately.

I have never liked how scholarships can be pulled for reasons other than failing out or discipline issues. Once a kid commits to a school a school should have to commit to them.

He should have been done this year. He would be eligable due to a medical redshirt to play next year. Coaches have to recruit ahead of time so in order to give Young a scholarship, they have to take one away from a recruit.

I would be interested to hear whether his scholarship wasn't renewed, or whether he was not allowed back on the team. The former would tell me that there is someone coming in to get his scholarship and he may have been given the option to walk-on. The latter would indicate he did something wrong.
