Are we sure he switched from Southern Miss to ISU. To my knowledge CW hasn't even confirmed it.

This doesn't look like a commitment to me. His profile was just updated by rivals.

Scout has him as a verbal to ISU. Maybe Rivals is having a hard time getting in contact with his coach. Who knows.

Scout has been sketchy in the past so hopefully they didn't relay crap info.

Some of the best DTs are 6-1 or under. Three of our very best come to mind who were that small or smaller. James Reed (6-1 and enjoyed a looooooong NFL career), Brett Curvey (6-0 is being generous) and Nick Leaders (6-1 at best). In fact, shorter DTs are more coveted than the taller guys because the theory goes that they can get better leverage over taller OLs. Low man wins most battles on the line of scrimmage.

    My guess is...

Because we have had a few late decommits, we also may have a few late commits that the staff has just redoubled their efforts on.

We'll see what the staff does. They may not want to waste a scholly on a player that they don't like enough, looking to bank the scholly for an early enrollee next year. Or, they may attempt to sign and place someone who is a risk to qualify. Or, they may float a scholly to a kid that noone expects but they think has a lot of upside.

Last year every single kid that committed to us signed on signing day. We were wondering on if some kids would qualify, and I think at least all but one did. This year there are questions about scholarships available, kids qualifying, ect.
