Re: Running back targets before signing day?
Boy, wouldn't we all love to sneak a peak at ISU's recruiting board. Our guys are experienced college football recruiters, I can't imagine they're not prepared for such eventualities. It might be fun, even -- a surprise or two on signing day.

Here you go.
I would have no issue if ISU recruited and got a commitment from a RB who is currently commited to another school. I would not think he is a low character individual, nor do I think Hill is.
There are a lot of reasons why kids commit or decommit. If we swoop in and grab someone from another school it may be because that kid was waiting for a BCS level offer all along and wasn't that solid on the school they were commited to.
A lot of times kids get pressured to commit early and often do in hopes of ensuring that they will get a spot on a team. Not all kids have 10 high quality schools fighting over them. Often, a mid level recruit who commits early will get overlooked by schools that want him, but may not want to put in the effort to get him to decommit.
As I said earlier, I am ok it ISU doesn't sign a RB this year since we should be able to sign a decent one, or even two next year and there are no immediate depth concerns.
I want to see ISU get the best remaining recruits available to them, regardless of position.

On a mobile device do I can't reply directly to your post. But I agree with everything you wrote.
My question was specifically addressing those who have been making this an indictment on this kids. I was hoping people would just realize it sucks to be on the short end of the stick but great when we benefit.
I think if you look at my post history (which isn't much) is generally pretty even keeled and avoids taking positions that can be taken as any attack.

Makes sense.
I'm a little touchy today with all the d-bag hawk trolls on the site. Makes me trigger happy.

Re: Running back targets before signing day?
I for one don't hate Hill for going to Iowa, I think he saw an oppertunity to play right away with no redshirt and took it. That being said.... I have no idea why anyone would want to go to Iowa to be a running back, I mean ****! Talk about the Madden curse, this Iowa team goes through 4 running backs a year. I'm pretty sure they have a class to take for running backs (this is how to screw this up; being creative 101) there is no 200 level class as they are gone in a year. If they do make sophmores than they really screw it up (ARob smokes one joint to many, Coker cheats or gets in law trouble makes Ferentz pass gas, Wenger knocks up 2 girls on same night, hampton trips over 50 yard line and blows a knee for 3rd straight time.) After Green (who was inelligable for 2 years) has one good year and leaves its all down hill.
I mean you gotta question why this guy wants to bring that bad luck on himself, plus side we are loaded at the RB and now more appealing for another back next year with a gap in rotation.

Not everyone is superstitious. He also probably knows that he isn't going to make those kinds of decisions with drugs, girls, etc. He also probably knows that he is going to work hard in the classroom and not become inelegible that way. Lastly he theoretically has the same chance of getting injured anywhere here goes, reality being that he is playing the game of football.

Re: Running back targets before signing day?
Even my Hawk friend kinda laughed when he jabbed at me about it today. He said, I can see why he came, but sucks for him he will probably be gone in two years.

Hill is having second thoughts about going to the Parrots.
