I selfishly want KO on the Bears, but if he has to go anywhere else I suppose the cowboys would be neat to see. Not because I give a crap about the cowboys, but because that is his favorite team.
I never said he wouldn't be drafted until the third round. I said don't be surprised if he doesn't go until the 3rd. Quit making **** up.
This is KO's biggest weakness. He will strictly be a guard in the NFL. He is evidently having some success at right tackle, so some teams might evaluate him as a future tackle, which would make his grade better for that team. Most teams will see him as a strictly a guard. Most guys who are graded as strictly guards usually don't start going until the 3rd round. Other than maybe one or two guys, the guards drafted in the first two rounds are players these teams feel can one day make the move to tackle. KO is a guy who is exceptional in run blocking, but doesn't have quickness to keep up with NFL defensive ends on the outside in the passing game. He could be an instant starter and one day be a pro bowler, but at guard.
Only 2 guys went in the first two rounds last year that were projected as strictly guards, and both of them were in the second. Saying he might not go until the 3rd round is not a knock, it's where NFL teams usually start selecting guards. I'll give you an example of a player similar to how KO is being talked about from last years draft. Clint Boling from Georgia was a guy ''experts'' and mock draft guys had going early in the second round, and possibly could slip into the first round. He didn't end up getting drafted until the 4th. He played tackle at Georgia but was graded out by NFL teams as strictly a guard. NFL teams just don't like drafted guys like that in the first two rounds, which is why so few go that early.
Guards taken in the top two rounds don't all have to have a shot at Tackle. Mike Pouncey was taken at #15 as a guard with a shot at being a center. He's worked out as a center so far for the Dolphins. Just goes to show that you don't HAVE to have a shot as a starting LT to get first round love.
I think teams will really like KOs length. I think he does have the ability to play RT and teams that like versatility in their OL will dig that.
The first round is a stretch, but I think he will go in the second. If Decastro goes before the Cowboys pick at 14, then theres a good chance Cordy Glen (Georgia) goes to the Cowboys. That lines up KO to go late first early second.
A lot of teams need OG this year and with the restructured rookie salaries, they can afford them with early picks.

Your logic in conventional situations may be correct related to the draft, but it's hard to factor into consideration that Jerry Jones meddles too much with the draft versus other teams experts. Jerry has already stated he needs the Cowboys to get bigger at guard (Osemele is much bigger than Glen from Georgia) and he specifically wants versatility to play multiple positions (again favoring Osemele). I would say if Castro is gone with the 14 pick Osemele has a better chance of being that pick than Glen.
No one truly ever knows what Jerry is going to do on draft day and frankly this analysis will probably turn out to be nothing like what Jerry actually does that day. Osemele fits the Cowboys needs pretty well, athough I agree it could be possible he slips into round 2. However, I am not buying round 3. Osemele won't fall that far.
