    Schools ISU Commits picked us over

    So I was bored and decided to look at this years recruiting class and compare it to the last two years. Specifically, what schools kids turned down in favor of ISU.

    * I only counted confirmed offers via Rivals
    ** I only counted BCS schools

    So it's very obvious that ISU is going after bigger fish and getting them. This will not only help in terms of getting better kids playing for ISU but also in recruiting, telling kids "X kid got an offer from X school and he came here and was all conference"

    This class was about 4 or 5 recruits smaller than last as well. Try an avg offers/recruit number.

    This happens a lot, and is probably why some of the previous years are lower numbers. I'm sure they had more offers than that.

    I heard this too. Like some SEC schools. His strong commitment was why the offer was not "official", as he was telling them to do their school a favor and offer some other kid because he is a Cyclone. Love it!

    Since he doesn't have that data on everyone, you just have to assume that it evens out between each class. The basic principle of what he is saying holds true.

    Exactly. I don't doubt that many of the kids we recruited had more offers, I just went off what Rivals had listed. Didn't feel like doing that much research to find every offer from every kid haha

    Not just the number of schools has increased, but also the calibre of schools that were beat out. In 2010, we mostly beat out schools that were also rans in their conferences, or schools that weren't yet BCS schools (Utah, TCU).

    Good to see the number pick up, but Lawry makes up the majority of the schools on that list however.
