For additional perspective, Boise State DE Shea McCellin, 6' 3" 260lbs ran a 4.63 40, vs. LJ's best of 4.65.
A really good performance in the 3 cone and 20 yard shuttle may help LJ out, but won't offset the concerns about top end speed for most teams. A team that primarily plays tampa 2 may have fewer concerns with top end speed for corner if that player is exceptional in small space.
2nd run looked like he pulled up halfway through. Either that, or he has no 'kick'
That 40 time hurts, hopefully he lands in a late round.
Watching the combine, and watched LJ's 2nd run. He doesn't look fast but thats what one of the commentators was saying, Hes not gonna blow you away in the combine but every piece of film he has seen on him he competes and works hard.
Looks like he didn't have a great day. Here are his ranks:
Broad jump: 27/50
They should really make the DB's start their 40's with their backs to the start line.
Link to the annual Rich Eisen running the 40 in a suit and then comparing it to the athletes. Pretty funny stuff:

I ran into LJ yesterday on campus. He wasn't happy with his times. He said he's going to New York to work with a speed coach prior to pro day at ISU...as he finishes his degree. Great guy and really hope he lands on a team that fits and has many years of success.
