Could someone please explain?
Which Big 12 programs are most profitable? - Big 12 Blog - ESPN
My question is, is this small margin or profitability a normal occurrence each year with our athletic dept or is this the result of building the football offices? Cant wait for the BIG12 cash to be flowing regardless.
Re: Could someone please explain?
Another thing, what is going on a KSU, hopefully nothing and that is the reason they are stockpiling cash.

Re: Could someone please explain?
It is incredible how far behind we are. Just incredible.
And we spend nearly everything we take in and will for the forseeable future because of debt payments we're making.
I'm guessing Kansas State is trying to save up cash to pay down a good portion of the renovations they're getting ready to do to Father Time Family Stadium?

Yet at least we are still profitable somewhat.

How is K-state so profitable?

This is what I really want to know. Their expenses are the lowest in the Big 12 with their revenues in the middle. They are either really good at managing their department or those numbers are wrong.

I would imagine all the money we have available we are dumping into the outstanding balances we have on the loans for the basketball practice facility, the scoreboard, the football practice facility, and the JTS renovations.

I almost said this.
Looking at it even further:
How can there be such a disparity between Kansas and Kansas State? I am not familiar with the state of Kansas very well but I find it hard to believe that KU had only 1.2M more than in revenue than KSU. I would think there would be a lot more alum willing to give to KU. I know that Kansas has one of the biggest basketball budgets in the country but it can't be that much more than KSU's budget, so where are the rest of KU's expenses going? If KSU is doing it right how can KU be doing it so wrong?
Re: Could someone please explain?
KU is paying 3 football coaches...
Re: Could someone please explain?
This info was posted by myself about 3 weeks ago. Someone in that thread seemed to know why KSU was so profitable. I'll try to find it.

It could be some of this but I took the 2010-2011 meaning July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011, so at that point they would only be paying 2.
I think it has to be something with their expenses.

WVU's Big 12 Budget - West Virginia University Sports News, Scores and Coverage from WVMETRONEWS.COM
Here is article that has 09-10 budgets. EXpenses are the same but KSU's revenue went up by $15M. That is roughly equal to their ticket sales. I wonder if they did not push their FB ticket revenue into the current year much like we did a few years ago.
Stay creative my number crunching friend.
