"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

Re: made nearly $90k on Pinstripe
Breaking even on a smaller bowl game, especially in such a high cost area, is great. Not a lot of schools who go to lower tier bowls are able to make any money off of it with the way bowls set up ticket sales. This is a bigger deal than some posters are thinking.
Plus it showed again that ISU fans travel well, which can only help us in bowl selections in the future.

Re: made nearly $90k on Pinstripe
Interesting tidbit in the story. If the numbers are correct, we paid the Big 12 just over $725 per ticket for the unsold tickets. Seems high to me. For those that went, did you pay that much for a ticket?

I think it is quite a accomplishment that we didn't lose any money when you look at we spent over $600k on food and lodging for roughly 600 people.

For those that went, did you pay that much for a ticket? Got mine for $40 outside the stadium since it was a list minute decision. List price was ~$100.

I think your math is off (or they've already corrected the article) - I'm getting 1,402 unsold tickets at ~$113.75 each.
Regardless, coming away with a profit after a game like this is very impressive.

Maybe they can help pay my student loans....
