Who looks to be our starting five OL for the season opener this fall?
My guess below...I think the only starting job still up for grabs would be the guard slot opposite Tuftee. Some rumors seem to hint that Dika was looking very good before being hurt in spring practice...has anyone gotten any other leaks/info on how various young offensive lineman are looking this spring. I believe this may be the key to our season...certainly a good OL makes the QB's and RB's much better players.
C Farniok
G Tuftee
G Gannon
T Burris
T Bykowski
C Tautolo
G Dika
G Graham/Omoile
T Lichtenberg
T Loth

Re: Who looks to be our starting five OL for the season opener this fall?
I'm not sure it'll be that straightforward. I think there'll be a three man rotation at tackle a lot of the time, and Tuftee might have his hands full with Omoile by the time Fall rolls around. I guess we'll see!
We got a new Marshall here in town, and his name's Paul Rhoads, and the times, they is a'changin'.

T Loth I think that you have the starters nailed. Personally, I'm not too worried about Gannon. I thought that he did a good job when he filled in for Tuftee and an offseason will only help him. I thought that maybe he'd get a shot at LT, but I guess not. I look for Farniok to be the star of the OL and Omoile to make a run at one of the Guard spots. Lichtenburg will see plenty of time as a swing Tackle.

Really excited to see what Farniok can do as the anchor of this line, kid's got big upside.

He is recovering from a knee injury (ACL? can't remember) which should only amplify his chances to be redshirted, and considering every offensive lineman in the Rhoads era has been redshirted I would guess that there is less than a 5% chance he doesn't redshirt. Especially with our depth at offensive line.
"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

I'm actually excited to see Dagel out there after a RS year. I think that he could be a good player down the line.

We were atrocious against blitzing teams last year so hopefully we have personnel in place to get that cleared up. The biggest factor in the outcome of our games last year was usually the amount the other team blitzed.

This seemed to be a huge factor in the Rutgers game, but what others?
